Mandev Sohki

We were all so shocked to hear the devastating news today of the sudden death of Mandev Sohki. Chelmsford Ballet Company Frequently Asked Questions
Annette Potter, our Artistic Director, found him such a pleasure to work with and joins us all in sending our heartfelt condolences to his wife, family and colleagues at Ballet Cymru. We cannot even begin to imagine the pain that his death has brought.Chelmsford Ballet Company
Many of our company members will remember him with great fondness. He first danced with us in 2009, coincidentally as the Prince in Sleeping Beauty, and the following year he again danced the male lead in Cinderella. On both occasions partnered by dancing members and Central graduates Bethany Pike and Lucy Durno (with whom he had already been associated through Ballet Wales, as it was then called).

He returned to The Company to take Company classes as a guest teacher; on one occasion traveling through snow and ice from Warrington when many dancing members from Essex were unable to make it to the studio.
He was so committed to his performances with us, spending time getting to know us all and truly becoming a part of our “family.” So many people became devotees of Ballet Cymru because of his presence.
We are all the poorer for his untimely death. We will miss him.
