Company Class- 6th October 2013

We are really pleased to welcome back Gillian Toogood to take Company classes on the 6th October.

Gillian was a Cecchetti Scholar who went on to train with Nesta Brooking.  She began her professional career by joining the Malmo State Ballet, subsequently spending six years with the Royal Swedish Ballet, where she worked with, amongst others, Erik Bruhn and Sir Kenneth Macmillan.  During this time Gillian toured extensively including performing at the Bolshoi and dancing many major classical roles in ballets by Ashton, Balanchine, Bournonville and Cranko.

Gillian returned home in 1985 to join London City Ballet as a soloist.

She has choreographed for The Chelmsford Ballet Company, of which she was Artistic Director for 10 years standing down in 2010. She is currently teaching in Aylesbury.  She has also been a guest teacher for the Cecchetti Associates and taught and choreographed for the Cecchetti Scholars.

The early class from 09.30 – 10.45 is for dancers age 10 and above. This class will include work to suit those working at grades 2 – 5 or an equivalent level.

The later class from 11.00 – 12.30 is for dancers aged 13 and above. This class will include work to suit those working at or above grade 6 or equivalent level and may include pointe work.
