Richard Bermange to take Company Classes – 4th September

We are very excited to welcome Richard back to take Company Classes on 4th September; a fabulous start to the new year.

Richard has been a professional dancer and choreographer for 14 years. Born in London, he began dancing locally before completing his training at Central School of Ballet, London. As a student he danced with Northern Ballet and Ballet Central, where he worked with choreographers including Cathy Marston and Morgann Runacre-Temple.

Since graduation, Richard has worked with K-Ballet, Tokyo, where he danced in all of the classics, including Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty as well as works by McMillan and Ashton. Whilst with Tivoli Ballet, Copenhagen, he danced soloist and principal roles in various ballets, including Bournonville’s Napoli. He later joined The National Ballet of Ireland creating many roles with choreographer, Runacre-Temple in productions including Cinderella After the Ball, Romeo and Juliet, Schehezarade and The Nutcracker, more recently working with them as an Associate Choreographer.

Richard danced with English National Ballet in their production of Swan Lake and created the title role in James Streeter’s Onegin. He recently appeared with Peter Schaufuss Ballet where he danced in Ashton’s Romeo and Juliet and Schaufuss’ own Tchaikovsky Trilogy.

As a choreographer he has created numerous pieces for companies both at home and abroad. He has also been commissioned to create his own productions for private performances. He was invited to create two productions for “Resolution!” at The Place, London, and also presented his work at the Cloud Dance Festival 2011. In 2016 he successfully completed an MA in choreography at The Central School of Ballet in London with Ballet Central performing his piece “La Belle Epoque” on tour.Richard_B_NUT

He created Franz for the Chelmsford Ballet Company’s 2013 production of Coppélia and the Cavalier in The Nutcracker in 2014.
