Fabulous Guest Artists

We are so thrilled to announce that Richard Bermange will return to dance with The Company this year as the dashing Cavalier. His Sugar Plum Fairy will be Emma Lister. To complete the exciting Guest line-up we have Michael Budd as the Mouse King.


Emma Lister – Guest Artist- Sugar Plum Fairy

Born in Canada, Emma trained at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School under the tutelage of Galina Yordanova and David Moroni. Upon graduation she danced with The Royal Winnipeg Ballet in their productions The Nutcracker and Swan Lake.

Since moving to London, Emma has worked with English National Ballet in The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and Romeo and Juliet, and with the English Youth Ballet  danced and the lead roles in Coppélia, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Les Sylphides, Giselle and Swan Lake. Her freelance work since has included principal roles in Ballet Ireland’s The Nutcracker and Carmen and she is a frequent guest principal in America with the Anchorage Classical Ballet and Bermuda Civic Ballet.

Richard Bermange – Guest Artist – Cavalier

Richard is from London and trained at Central School of Ballet, London. As a student he danced with Northern Ballet and Ballet Central.

Since graduation, he has worked with English National Ballet, K-Ballet, Tokyo, Tivoli Ballet, Copenhagen, Peter Schaufuss Ballet and The National Ballet of Ireland. He has danced soloist and principal roles and danced in all of the classical repertoire, including Bournonville’s Napoli,. Cinderella After the Ball, Romeo and Juliet, Schehezarade,  Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, more recently working with Ballet Ireland as an Associate Choreographer.

As a choreographer he has created numerous pieces for companies both home and abroad. He has also been commissioned to create his own productions for private performances.

Richard is delighted to make his second appearance with The Chelmsford Ballet Company, having danced in the company’s production of Coppélia last year.


Michael Budd – Guest Artist – Mouse King

Michael was born in Essex and trained at The Royal Ballet School for 7 years. After graduating from the upper school he toured with London Studio Centre in Images of Dance. Since graduation he has danced with many companies including European Ballet, Adventures in Motion Pictures, English National Ballet, Vienna Festival Ballet, Balletomania, Anya Ison Wallace Dance company, The Johann Strauss Gala and Debbie Mc Gee and Paul Daniels ballet company, Ballet Imaginaire. He has performed all over the UK, Europe and world-wide, covering Japan, South Korea, Israel and Qatar.

He says that some of the highlights of his career include the 4 year period dancing in Swan Lake for Matthew Bourne, his time as a Principal Dancer with the Vienna Festival Ballet and performing in Romeo and Juliet with the English National Ballet at the Royal Albert Hall.

He is pleased to join The Chelmsford Ballet Company as a Guest Artist and is impressed with the important work of The Company.
