Congratulations to Jasmine Wallis

Birds from “Carnival of the Animals”

Congratulations to dancing member Jasmine Wallis who is dancing with the Vienna Festival Ballet. She is a graduate of the Central School of Ballet in London and last danced with The Chelmsford Ballet Company in 2015, taking the lead female role in patron Christopher Marney’s piece “Carnival of the Animals.” (see the video clip on the home page of the website.) Having been offered the opportunity to understudy for them she has already danced in 8 performances of their touring programme of “The Sleeping Beauty”.  The tour has only been on the road for 12 days so it looks as if she will have plenty of performance opportunities.

The Vienna Festival Ballet was formed in 1980 by Artistic director Peter Mallek who trained in Vienna under the Russian teacher Harry Pluciss, a former pupil of the world-famous ballet master Pushkin. He performed with the national ballet companies of the world e.g. American Ballet Theatre, London Festival Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Australian Ballet and the Dutch National Ballet.

She joins former dancing member Ashley Selfe.
