Alice-Adventures in Wonderland

Two audiences were entranced by our young dancers in “Alice-Adventures in Wonderland” this afternoon. Dancers from around Essex enjoyed an exciting day learning a new dance, being fitted with costumes and rehearsing, before giving two beautiful performances.

Senior dancing members joined us to dance the roles of Alice, The Mad Hatter, The Queen of Hearts, The White Rabbit and The Cheshire Cat.

A new venue for our Let’s Make a Ballet gave us one or two “moments” this morning. Very much a case of hit the deck running, trying to find our way around and determine the best space for the Wardrobe Mistress, each group of dancers and where to channel the two audiences. The stage made a big difference to the overall effect and the lighting and effects provided by the Technician were superb.

The costumes were beautiful; it never ceases to amaze what wonders can be done in such a short space of time.

The Company is of course very grateful to those who have up so much time to give this experience to young people. Performing is such a joyous thing; we hope that today will have inspired them.
